Dear Parents and Families,
As we approach the end of another wonderful year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the growth, learning, and memories we’ve made together. It has been a truly special year filled with laughter, curiosity, and incredible milestones. We want to thank each of you for entrusting us with the care and education of your child. It has been such a joy to watch them grow and learn. For our boys and girls moving on to Primary School, we wish you all the best in your exciting new adventure. We look forward to seeing our Juniors as they move to the senior session in August, have a wonderful summer
Graduation! Well done to all our children who graduated this year, what a brilliant day we had celebrating, thanks to all our parents and families who made the day very special. We have had an amazing 2 years full of fun and learning and they are ready for the next step in their educational journey
Look what we’ve been learning while we were playing
Social and Emotional Skills: The children have learned to share, take turns, and express their feelings more clearly and have become great friends.
Cognitive Development: Our Senior children now recognise letters especially their own name, can count to 20, and are excited about exploring new ideas and solving problems. Our Juniors are beginning to recognise simple patterns, match shapes and colours, and are learning to listen, follow instructions, and express their own ideas
Motor Skills: Building fine motor skills by using scissors, building with blocks, connect pipes, play dough and more, refining gross motor skills cycling balance bikes, driving tractors, jumping off the caterpillar, sliding down the slide and more, all our children’s coordination and balance skills have improved significantly.
Lifecycle of the Butterfly
Meet our amazing caterpillars, who taught us all about the lifecycle of a butterfly as we watched them feed and grow bigger each day. After spinning themselves into 5 cozy cocoons, we eagerly waited and were thrilled to see them emerge as stunning butterflies, ready to flutter into the world. We released the butterflies in our garden; we watched as they spread their wings wide heading for the flowers. "The life cycle of a butterfly is a magical journey of change and growth. From a tiny egg to a colourful butterfly, each stage is important and teaches us about transformation in nature.
Our last week of 2025
What a week we are having this week, on Monday we had our visit to the primary school with our Senior boys and girls, we met Mrs. Maloney, the junior infant’s teacher and even got to do some dance exercises with the whole school in the yard. Our Junior boys and girls went on a walk to the playground we were super excited and had a great time. Tuesday was teddy bear picnic day and although the weather was a little wet it didn’t stop us having our picnic, we just had it inside instead of out in the playground. Wednesday was pool day WOW did we have fun swimming! Thursday is party day for our Junior children as we say goodbye for the summer. Friday is party day for our Senior children as we wave goodbye and wish them well in Primary school
Summer means so many fun activities for everyone! We have enjoyed playing outside in the sunshine, having picnics with our friends, splashing, filling, pouring and spilling in water play, building sand castles in the sand and getting messy in the mud garden. We’ve also been learning about nature, looking to see who lives in our hedges, watching the birds flying in the sky, looking at all the flowers in our garden We looked for minibeasts like ladybugs and snails in our hedges and used our magnifying glass to take a closer look at them. We made houses for them full of leaves to eat and grass to keep them warm. Did you know that there are lots of different minibeasts, we saw Butterflies, Bees, Ladybugs, Ants, Spiders, Worms, Snails and Slugs in our garden.
We love playing with our friends practicing teamwork with ball games, playing “duck duck goose” and “what time is it Mr. Wolf”. We used chalk to draw ourselves on the ground outside, filling the place with our portraits, flowers and more. These experiences help us develop our motor skills, social skills, and understanding of the world around us but we were just having FUN!
Indoor Fun & Learning!
Even on warm summer days, we take time to enjoy meaningful play inside the classroom. Here’s a look at some of the fun and educational activities we’ve been doing indoors:
Number Blocks: We used colourful number blocks to build towers, practice counting, and explore basic math concepts like size, order, and patterns. The children loved stacking them high and knocking them down—learning through play
Connect Pipes: Our engineers got creative with connect pipes! They twisted and joined, the pieces to make fun structures, practicing problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, and teamwork.
Magnetic Frames: Using magnetic frames, the children explored shapes, patterns, and basic building skills.
While the children are busy building, connecting, and experimenting, they’re also developing important STEM skills that will support future learning in school and beyond.
Water play: STEM and water play go hand-in-hand—water activities are a fun and engaging way to explore science, math, and even engineering concepts in a fun way. We have held a car wash, baby’s bath time, sailed boats, fished and lots more
Hold Hands – water safety programme for young children
we talk about what keeps us safe, holding an adult’s hand near water, swimming between the red and yellow flags at the beach, always wearing sunscreen and a hat, listening to the life guards and our parents, playing safely, staying near our parents and taking turns. We never go near water without an adult. REMEMBER to HOLD HANDS
