About Our Playschool

Ardfinnan Community Playschool was established in 2004 with the aim to provide a safe stimulating and friendly environment in which children can grow and express themselves. A place where each child is cared for, listened to and their interests are catered for. Ardfinnan Community Playschool is registered with Early Childhood Ireland. It is a committee run, non- profit making group. We are a seasonal service operating over a 38 weeks year offering morning and afternoon sessions.

Meet Our Staff

Our Early Years Educators

Erica Condon is our Lead Educator. Erica has 17 years’ experience working with children, she is fully qualified holding a FETAC Level 6 in Childcare, a Level 6 LINC Award and holds certificates in other relevant courses. As lead educator, Erica guides and supports our educators ensuring high quality care and education for children, developing and implementing an age-appropriate curriculum which fosters positive learning experiences based on the children’s interests and collaborating with families to foster a positive learning environment where children feel respected, valued, and empowered to explore, learn, and take risks. As LINC coordinator, she provides leadership in relation to issues of diversity, equality and inclusion.

Christine O Connor  is our Early Years Educator.   Christine has 18 years’ experience working with children, she holds a FETAC Level 5 in Childcare and holds certificates in other relevant courses. In her role as educator, Christine facilitates learning through play, observation, and assessment, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive skills, building strong relationships with children and families, fostering a sense of community and support.

Elaine Cowan is our administrator and Early years Educator, AIM Support.   Elaine has 18 years’ experience working with children; she holds a FETAC Level 6 in Childcare and holds certificates in other relevant courses including a FETAC Level 5 in Business Administration.   As administrator she has the responsibility of organising all administrative activities that facilitate the smooth running of our office and playschool. As AIM support Elaine supports children with disabilities or other special needs to fully participate in the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program. Her role involves providing individualized support, implementing tailored strategies, and ensuring an inclusive learning environment where all children can thrive.
